Well Woman Exams
An annual exam is a once-a-year visit to your primary care provider for a general health check, including a breast exam and pap smear. An annual exam visit does not include discussion of new problems or detailed review of chronic conditions. Annual exams are also called a yearly exam, annual pap, and preventive visit.
Texas Health Steps
Texas Health Steps is for children from birth through 20 years of age who have Medicaid. Texas Health Steps provides regular medical and dental checkups and case management services to babies, children, teens, and young adults at no cost to you. If your child's doctor finds a health problem during a checkup, he or she can make sure your child gets the medical care that is necessary to help prevent problems that could make it hard for your child to learn and grow.
TVFC Program
Since its inception in 1994, Texas has participated in the Federal Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program. Our version is called the Texas Vaccines for Children Program, or TVFC. The Program was initiated by the passage of the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993. This legislation guaranteed that vaccines would be available at no cost to providers, in order to immunize children who meet the eligibility requirements.
